ITINERARY:
DAY 1,
Depart USA
DAY 2, Arrive and transfer to
your hotel. Balance of the day at leisure: PALERMO
DAY 3, Visit the Old City of
Palermo: the Norman Palace, the Palatine Chapel, and
the Cathedral. Continue to Monreale, famous for the
Byzantine and Sicilian mosaics in the Norman
Cathedral. This afternoon take a tour to the village
of Cefalú (B): PALERMO
DAY 4, This morning, depart
Palermo to see the Doric Temple in Segesta. Continue
to visit medieval Erice, located on the summit of
Monte San Giuliano. Then to Agrigento to visit the
Valley Temples: Juno, Concorde and Hercules (B):
AGRIGENTO
DAY 5, Depart to Taormina, via
medieval Piazza Armerina. Visit the Roman villa to
view the beautiful mosaics (B): TAORMINA
DAY 6, Morning excursion to
Mt. Etna, the highest mountain in Sicily and the
highest volcano in Europe. This afternoon, return to
Taormina to visit the Palazzo Corvaja, the Greek
Theater and the Cathedral (B): TAORMINA
DAY 7, Today, visit Siracusa,
stretching out into the sea on the island of Ortigia.
Visit the archaeological park, the Roman
amphitheater and the Ear of Dionysus (B): TAORMINA
