A Typical Day
Each
destination presents its own unique flavor and brand of experience, and you
may sample this by reading the trip descriptions. However, there are common
features which offer a sense of a "typical day" on a Country Walkers
expedition.
Breakfast is generally served between 7:00am and 8:00am. Your guide takes
this opportunity to review the day's walks and highlight special points of
interest. Occasionally, we offer a walk before breakfast for the early
morning riser. This glorious time captures sunrises, birds singing excitedly
or villagers opening market.
Our walks begin shortly after breakfast. At times we set out on foot
directly from the inn. At other times we travel by van or mini-coach to the
start of the trail. Our walking distance ranges from 4 to 14 miles in a day,
and options are usually offered. You may wish to stroll 4 or 5 miles to a
local village, enjoy a café lunch, and then relax away the afternoon at your
leisure. Or you may walk 9 to 10 miles to a farther destination, pausing for
a trail-side picnic.
Dinner
is generally served between 6:00pm and 8:00pm. This is the time to gather
with new friends and recall the day's experiences. Refer to
Lodging and Cuisine to gain a sense of this
notable feature.
Late evenings mean relaxing in the fashion that pleases you best. Read by
the lounge fire or sample the local fun - from concerts and plays to
star-gazing and night safaris to pub sing-a-longs. Quiet private rooms in
sumptuous settings allow you to wake feeling utterly refreshed and ready to
continue your adventure.
