DAY 2, Wednesday - Arrive in Ljubljana
Arrive in Ljubljana, the capital city of Slovenia, and transfer to your hotel. Spend the rest of the day at leisure. Your tour will begin with an orientation meeting with your Slovenian Tour Manager at approximately 6 PM, followed by a reception. We recommend that you select flights which arrive no later than 4 PM

DAY 3, Thursday - Ljubljana Walking Tour
Begin the day with a tour of Ljubljana. Your knowledgeable guide will lead you on a sightseeing tour of the city, and its monuments. View the lively open-air market, Preseren Square, City Hall, Robba Fountain, the Three Bridges, and the Parliament. Spend the afternoon at leisure

DAY 4, Friday - Bled Castle and Lake Bled
Begin the day with a visit to the imposing 11th century Bled Castle, perched on a steep cliff high above the lake, creating a dramatic backdrop to the city. Stroll through the castle grounds and visit the museum to gain insight into the history of the castle, and the surrounding area. Continue the day on Bled's lake aboard a pletna, a traditional rowing boat for a visit to Bled Island, and the Church of the Assumption, home to a wonderful art collection. Spend the afternoon at leisure to explore Bled independently before driving back to Ljubljana

Arrive in Trieste, the capital city of Friuli Venezia-Giulia region of Italy, boasting a unique blend of Italian, Astro-Hungarian, and Slovenian cultures. Wander through the streets of the historic center, lined with elegant palaces, ornate churches, and lively piazzas. View the iconic Piazza Unità d'Italia, and the 19th century Miramare Castle, located on the Grignano promontory, overlooking the Gulf of Trieste. DAY 6, Sunday - Postojna Caves
This morning, head south to the dramatic Predjama Castle, built within the mouth of a cave, directly into a towering limestone cliff. Explore the castle's interior to discover its stately rooms, chapel, and dungeon. Afterward, visit Postojna Caves, a network of passages, galleries, and chambers. This is the largest, and most visited show cave in Europe. Travel aboard the specially designed cave train with electric lighting that allows you to observe the splendor of the underground world. You'll be dazzled by the stalactites, and stalagmites in a variety of shapes and colors. Free time for lunch, before returning to Ljubljana. DAY 7, Monday - Full Day in Ljubljana, or Optional Full Day Maribor with Lunch
Today is free to explore Ljubljana on your own. Perhaps, join the optional Full Day Maribor City Tour with Lunch. Begin the scenic drive through Slovenia's countryside with its rolling hills, and vineyards, to the city of Maribor. On arrival, take a tour of the historic Old Town. View the Town Hall, the stunning Cathedral of St. John the Baptist, a Gothic masterpiece, and the medieval Maribor Castle, perched atop a hill overlooking the city. Following lunch at a local restaurant, there will be free time to explore the city on your own. Perhaps sample some of the local wines, and specialties such as štruklji, and potica. On your last day at leisure in Slovenia choose the optional Full Day Slovenian Coast: Piran and Portoroz. Journey to Slovenia's beautiful Adriatic coast. Arrive in the town of Piran, known for its Venetian architecture. Begin your exploration at Tartini Square, named after the famous composer, and violinist Giuseppe Tartini. View the Cathedral of St. George and walk along the historic city walls for breathtaking views of the Gulf of Trieste. Free time to enjoy a leisurely seafood lunch at one of the local restaurants. In the afternoon, continue to the resort town of Portoroz, renowned for its sandy beaches, and spas. DAY 10, Thursday - Padua Walking Tour
This morning, take a walking tour of Padua and begin at the monumental square of Prato della Valle, one of the largest in Europe. Continue to view the Basilica of Saint Anthony, with its Romanesque and Byzantine architecture, a landmark of the city. Discover the Medieval city center, its lively squares including Piazza dei Signori with its clocktower and Piazza della Frutta e delle Erbe with their markets. See the Palazzo della Ragione, the 13th century Palazzo del Comune and Loggia del Consiglio. Walk through the narrow streets of the Jewish Ghetto, lined with ancient synagogues and traditional shops. Free time for lunch on your own. The rest of the day is at leisure

DAY 11, Friday - Explore Verona
Depart Padua and travel west towards Verona, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and one of the best examples of a fortified city. Verona is also known worldwide as the setting of Shakespeare's famous play Romeo and Juliet. On arrival, take a tour of Verona's historic center with its ancient Roman ruins, medieval palaces, and Renaissance architecture. Spend free time exploring on your own and discovering the culinary scene. Sample traditional dishes including risotto all'Amarone paired with regional wines. Later, return to Padua

DAY 12, Saturday - Full Day in Padua or Optional Full Day Treviso & Prosecco
Today is free to explore Padua at your own pace. Perhaps, join the optional Full Day Treviso & Prosecco. Embark on a drive through scenic landscapes to Treviso, a lovely small city in northern Veneto. Walk the quaint streets that are cut across by pretty canals and view the striking Palazzo dei Trecento in Piazza dei Signori. Spend time on your own exploring before continuing to the area of Prosecco. Journey through the countryside, passing villas and medieval towns, to visit a local winery known for its Prosecco production. Gain insight into the winemaking process of this iconic sparkling wine. Conclude with sampling a selection of Prosecco wine in its land of origin. Arrive in Padua in the afternoon

DAY 13, Sunday - Travel by Train to Venice, Murano Island, Walking Tour of Venice
This morning, walk to the train station to board your train to Venice. The discovery of Venice begins with a boat ride to the island of Murano, known for its artistic and colorful glassware. Visit a local factory to witness the art of glassblowing. Afterward, continue to the main Venice Island and take a walking tour with your local guide through the maze of narrow alleyways and bridges before reaching St. Mark's Square. Upon arrival, stop to view its most prominent monuments, the pink marble Doge's Palace and golden Basilica of San Marco. Walk through the most traditional food shops and learn about the history, culture, and architecture, that make Bologna medieval market so unique. During the tour, savor a variety of food specialties that have secured Bologna's reputation as being the foodie capital of Italy. Visit the villa, a masterpiece of Venetian Baroque architecture and a testament to the wealth of the noble Pisani family. The villa is now a National Museum that houses 18th and 19th century works of art and furniture, including the fresco masterpiece of Giambattista Tiepolo on the ceiling of the ballroom.
