With plenty of time to explore at your leisure on many Italy tours or cruises, you can delve deep into the history, art and culture of Italyâ??s fascinating destinations and still have time to enjoy the view from a caf�©.

Rome:  Travel to Rome and revel in the magnificent monuments, from the ornate Trevi Fountain and the majestic Coliseum, to the splendor of St. Peterâ??s Basilica with Michelangeloâ??s Pieta and his breathtaking frescoes in the Sistine Chapel.  Enjoy a drive through the Roman country side to the mysterious Catacombs, or visit Tarquinia, known for its magnificent Etruscan burial ground.

Florence, Pisa & Tuscany:  Spend a glorious day amidst the fabled Renaissance architecture of Florence, admiring the Duomo, Michelangelo's magnificent David, the bridge over the Arno and the astonishing Uffizi Gallery.  Visit Pisa's Campo dei Miracoli with its beautiful cathedral and famed Leaning Tower, or explore the Tuscan countryside which comes alive in spectacular Siena and intimate San Gimignano.

Venice:  Stroll through expansive St. Markâ??s Square and visit the magnificent Dogeâ??s Palace, built in the 14th century in Gothic style.  Explore the cathedral of St. Mark.  Pass over the Bridge of Sighs and then cap your day with a sunset gondola ride along the Grand Canal.

Sorrento & Capri:  Beautiful Capri makes a lovely diversion with its stunning panoramas, charming piazzas and the Villa San Michele.  From the liveliness of Sorrentoâ??s most famous promenade, the Corso Italia, to the fern- covered landscape of the old flour mill and the incomparable views from the cliffs overlooking the blue Mediterranean, explore the heart and soul of his historic jewel.

Amalfi & Positano:  Visiting enchanting Amalfi to admire the 11th century Capuchin monastery and see the beautiful 11th century cathedral and cloister.  Then discover chic Positano with its relaxed, sophisticated air and white Moorish-style houses that cling to steep slopes around a sparkling bay filled with colorful fishing boats.

Naples & Pompeii:  Naples is bursting with beauty, from the Teatro San Carlo, one of Italyâ??s most renowned opera houses, to the energetic Piazza del Plebiscito.  Travel back in time to the excavated ruins of Pompeii at the foot of Mt. Vesuvius.  Walking through the city, which was buried in ash from the devastating volcanic eruption in 79 AD, brings the Roman Empire alive again.
