Hotel Villa d’Este on Lake Como Reopening June 18

There are signs of hope amid the COVID-19 gloom. Italy's Hotel Villa d'Este on Lake Como will reopen June 18, a home-away-from-home for guests. They are following WHO guidelines, as well as those of the Italian government with new standards of operation and meticulous preparation. Italy is scheduled to reopen its borders on June 3 to European neighbors and Americans may be able to travel to Italy later this summer.

Sanitizing measures include temperature scanner provided for employees and guests, hand sanitizer available for staff and guests throughout the property, reduced number of tables in restaurant and bar per social distancing regulations, replaced printed material with digital solutions and not assigning the same room to a same day departure or arrival by different guests in order to provide a deep sanitation between stays.

Upon reopening, guests can enjoy the hotelâ??s 25 acre park and gardens and world renowned floating pool on the lake. The bar and lakeside terrace will be open throughout the day and evening, while the Veranda Restaurant will be open for dinner only. On the weekend the Veranda Restaurant for lunch. Per WHO standards, access to the spa and Sporting Club will be subject to prior reservation.
